Creative Journal Expressive Arts

My TreasuresI am the Regional Coordinator and East Coast Supervisor for the Creative Journal Expressive Arts, a method originated and pioneered by Lucia Capacchione Ph.D., A.T.R., R.E.A.T.  I believe in the healing power of creating art and journaling with both your dominant and your non-dominant hand. Incorporating my expert art experience with a variety of methods help us get in touch with our bodies and our emotions in non-verbal ways. I lead you to explore a variety of media (clay, paint, collage, etc.) as you answer questions to analyze and discover the healing powers within, reflect on what you have created and why.

Each year I offer 2 “Art as Therapy” retreat programs, one in July and one in Dec in which we concentrate on a theme such as: Legacy, Care for the caregiver, Awaken the Artist, Story of my life, etc. I have been bringing ideas and programs to those who have trained in the CJEA methods since 2001. In the past 6 years I have taught programs from my studio to Ireland, England, Mexico and many places in the US. As the Regional Coordinator for CJEA I work along with Dr. Lucia Capacchione and her Supervisor Dr. Marsha Nelson to create adventures worldwide introducing these methods which help you:

1. Deal with feelings in a safe, healthy, and productive way
2. Uncover hidden artistic abilities
3. Discover the playful spirit so essential to the creative process
4. Release old emotions stored in parts of the body
5. Change negative attitudes about ourselves
6. Heal our relationships with others

I am also certified in facilitating workshops in Visioning® for life and career planning,
another program developed by Dr. Lucia Cappachione.
